Can I use my own waste transfer note instead of the GOV.UK form?
Yes. There is no set layout for a waste transfer note. It must hold the details listed in the Waste Duty of Care Code of Practice: what the waste is and its EWC code, how it is contained and how much, the time and place of the transfer, who handed it over and who took it, their registrations or permits, the waste hierarchy declaration and both signatures. This note has a place for each.
Is this the same as the WTN generator?
No. The WTN generator fills in the GOV.UK form for one load on screen. This tool makes a blank note with your company name on it, for you to print and fill in by hand on every job.
Does this note get sent to DEFRA?
No. It is a paper note and nothing is sent anywhere. Waste receivers in England and Wales also have to report every load to DEFRA digital waste tracking.
Can the note be my invoice too?
Yes. Choose that option and the note gets your VAT number and a price and payment box with Net, VAT and Total, Paid or Due, and how it was paid.
How many waste types can I put on it?
Up to 14 lines, so the whole note fits on one A4 page. Anything else can be written in the Other waste line.
Does my data get uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is made in your browser. Nothing you type, and no logo you add, is sent to LoadSnap or stored.
